The idea of a “” as an utopian place, like a house for the wandering and rootless travelers of this world, like a meeting point between people. Always anticipating a dinner, that, in fact, may never take place. Between the individuals sitting on stage is the musician, the soundman, the creator of the show’s video. It is a waiting room. Maybe a situation on the backstage or maybe a rehearsal room. An actor arrives in the scene to apply for a job in the theatre. Then another one. And so on. The novel’s scenes occur between all the characters that are waiting there. All of them are lost. The actors speak their native languages (with subtitles for the audience). Some scenes are repeated, but with a different cast. Successively they fail, in most cases because of their inability to communicate.
