Born in Oporto in 1959. She made her debut as an actress in 1977. She has participated in several shows, from playwrights such as Karl Valentine, Musset, Buchner, Ionesco, Tourgueniev, Corneille, Beckett, Pinget, Strindberg and Kroetz, Shakespeare, Pasolini, directed by Rui Madeira, Stephan Stroux, Miguel Guilherme, Mónica Calle, Luís Castro, São José Lapa, Fernanda Lapa, Jorge Fraga, José Wallenstein, Nuno Carinhas, Nuno M Cardoso, Jonh Romão, Paulo Castro, Nuno Cardoso, Miguel Loureiro etc. In addition to working in Theater she has also worked in cinema (with Joaquim Leitão, João Canijo, Edgar Pêra, Eduardo Guedes, Ruy Guerra, Marco Martins, among others), television and commercials. Winner of 5 awards including two national Golden Globes for best actress for her interpretation in ZONA J and INFERNO and already in 2019 the Portuguese Film Academy Sophia Award for her performance in RUTH.
